About Us

The Art Farm is an oasis of creativity and abundance, offering a unique opportunity to delve into trans-disciplinary art practices, as well as in-depth agriculture and permaculture practices with acclaimed artist and farmer Tinu Verghis.

Nestled in the serene village of Goa, amidst verdant fields that stretch as far as the eye can see, The Art Farm is housed in a charming Indo-Portuguese farmhouse dating back to 1945. With its lush one-acre plot,, the farm is home to a variety of animals, including geese, ducks, turkeys, hens, and soon some goats, providing a perfect backdrop for artistic exploration.

The Art Farm organizes camps that offer a supportive and nurturing community where women can feel free to express themselves without any fear of judgement or self-doubt. The camp is designed to help women develop their artistic skills, learn sustainable food cultivation, and embrace the principles of the eight limbs of yoga. The day at the camp begins with a focus on gratitude and surrender to the higher purpose of self-realization, as the practice of working with nature helps in accepting uncertainties as an inherent part of life. By letting go of control and expectations and aligning with the natural rhythms of life, one can experience a sense of liberation and freedom.

The Art Farm also offers experiential learning programs for children centered on the philosophy of learning by doing. Children are encouraged to actively engage in hands-on experiences that foster creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Through immersive exploration of art, agriculture, and community, children at The Art Farm acquire new knowledge through direct experience and practical application. They learn about sustainable farming practices, such as planting, nurturing, and harvesting crops, caring for animals, and understanding the interdependence of living organisms in an ecosystem. They also delve into the principles of permaculture, which emphasize working with nature, conserving resources, and promoting biodiversity.

The confluence of art, agriculture, and community at The Art Farm creates a truly holistic learning experience. It is a space where new knowledge is acquired through immersive exploration, and where creativity flourishes in harmony with the natural world. The farm is a haven where one can find solace, empowerment, and self-discovery, while nurturing their artistic talents and cultivating a deeper connection with the land and its rhythms. With its spirit of gratitude, surrender, and holistic learning, The Art Farm is a sanctuary that inspires all who step foot on its fertile grounds.

“This is a community building space, a place where women are comfortable to let go and be free from judgment and self doubt. ”
